Experiences
Miller Student Body President

In the 8th Grade, I served my middle school, Joaquin Miller Middle, as Student Body President. Because of that, I have learned so much and have greatly improved my leadership skills, which I would love to apply as Freshmen Class President. It has also given me the chance to learn how to properly run different types of meetings (Student Council, Officer, Event-Related, etc.), plan large scale events, and help guide other leaders; crucial jobs for a Class President. Working on projects like the 8th Grade Fancy Dance have given me a variety of experiences that will aid me through the processes of upcoming presidential duties including PR, running meetings, visual decoration planning, timely organization, budgeting, and emergency planning (for changes due to COVID).

Charity Commissioner
Not only in 8th but also in 7th grade, I was in the Leadership Class and I served as the Charity Commissioner. My event, We Scare Hunger, raised over 4,400 cans for the hungry and was quite successful. I developed a lot of organizational and executional skills in my first year of Leadership and have since continued to exercise and better them. This class has taught me so much about teamwork and what hard effort can earn you; some things which I will never forget and will keep learning about.

Homeroom Representative
From 6th grade and onward I have been the Representative for my Homeroom class. which involved attending HR Rep Meetings and communicating the information back to my class. This really improved my communication skills which will be necessary for spreading news about events. Whether over social media platforms, over email, or even in person, I'll work hard to figure out the best ways to make sure that you are always well informed. Additionally, being a Homeroom Representative has taught me how to voice the concerns and needs of a larger group to help make a change that benefits the majority.
